Western Harbour Tunnel EIS

Dynamically changing the way people travel across Sydney Harbour.

Spatial Media was engaged to deliver a visual communications Digital Environmental Impact Assessment (EIS) for the Western Harbour Tunnel and Warringah Freeway Upgrade. The NSW Government’s vision for Sydney is one of an integrated road and public transport network that gives you the freedom to choose how and when you get around, no matter where you live and work.

Within Spatial Media’s Community Analytics™ (CA) platform the public is able to engage interactively with all aspects of the EIS, including noise, heritage, landscape-visual impacts and project history.  The Digital EIS is the educational platform used as a gateway for stakeholders to learn about the project in fine detail and make formal submissions on the project.  Several kiosks were installed in high traffic stakeholder areas allowing the public to engage with the Interactive 3D design, and in an industry-first the Microsoft HoloLens was used at community consultations to engage with the model in mixed/augmented reality.

Spatial Media’s bespoke Interactive 3D platform is a responsive, fully-interactive experience that allows users to experience the project in real-time.
